Our Values

We believe in using business as a force for good, in making a positive impact in the communities around us, and creating purposeful change through the work we do.

  • How We Make A Difference

We believe in walking the talk when it comes to our commitment to social impact. We ensure we’re living up to our commitments by using independent third-party organizations to certify our business and environmental practices.

  • B Corporation

Realize Strategies is a Certified B Corporation. B Corporation is a rigorous certification process that evaluates companies on their overall practices and commitments in the areas of: governance, worker and stakeholder involvement, environmental practices, purchasing practices, hiring and workplace practices, community giving and client practices. Since becoming certified in 2015, Realize has consistently won global recognition in the following categories: Best for Overall (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), Best for Workers (2016, 2017, 2018), and Best for Governance (2017, 2018). You can access our most recent impact report here.

    Certified Living Wage Employer

The Living Wage Employer certification vets employers to ensure that they pay all direct and contract staff the living wage rate for their region. Here at Realize, we take pride in doing everything we can to ensure our team members have fair and competitive salaries and benefits. That’s why we are proud to share that we have a longstanding internal policy that the ratio of compensation between our most senior and junior team member will never exceed 3.5 : 1.

    Climate Smart

Realize Strategies is certified by Climate Smart. Every year, we’re required to complete a Greenhouse Gas Inventory and submit it to Climate Smart along with our GHG Reduction Plan. Our Climate Smart certification ensures we’re always thinking about our environmental footprint.

    Taking Root

We work with Taking Root to offset all of our GHG emissions. Taking Root is a Canadian NGO that works with smallholder farmers in Nicaragua to reforest land and generate sustainable revenues and forests.

    Social Purchasing

We prefer to purchase from social enterprises and local suppliers who put impact before profit. If there is a social enterprise or social purpose supplier, we’ll choose them even if their prices are slightly higher than traditional suppliers. Before we work with a new supplier, we vet them to make sure their values and practices align with ours. Our list of qualified social suppliers includes:

  • The Co-operative Model

Our unique structure sets us apart from traditional consulting businesses. We’re a co-operative owned by non-profits, co-operatives and social enterprises. Our unique structure means we’re deeply connected to the clients we serve and to the values that are important to them.
