Osmel Guerra Maynes was selected to be the Executive Director of QMUNITY. He is a social justice activist who immigrated to Canada as an international student in 2003 to pursue a Political Science Degree at Cartleton University and worked to ensure access to education for marginalized communities through various student roles. During his time working with LGBTQ/2S community-based organizations in Toronto, Osmel focused his work on developing policy and procedures, strategic planning and program design in the non-profit membership-driven sector. Osmel is excited and honoured to advance the vision and mission of QMUNITY and strongly believes in the power of inclusion to affect lasting social change.

Ceyda Gultan was selected to be the Manager of Human Resources for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver. She holds a master’s degree in HR Management and Development and is a Chartered Professional in HR (CPHR) and professional certified coach. She has over 15 years of knowledge and experience in HR, and over 5 years in strategic leadership positions within non-profits. Ceyda stood out from a strong pool of candidates with her HR expertise and non-profit experience, as well as her passion for finding solutions to complex problems. Ceyda’s compassion and ability to lead tasks with precision made her an ideal  addition to the Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver team.

Out on Screen was seeking an Artistic Director

Anoushka Ratnarajah and Amber Dawn were selected to jointly hold the position of Artistic Director for Out On Screen’s Vancouver Queer Film Festival and artistic programming. The search garnered a high number of strong applications, but Anoushka and Amber Dawn’s strong vision teamed with their extensive experience with art curation put them ahead. Realize was pleased to lead the search to find the right leadership for this important role in the arts and LGBTQ2+ community. Anoushka is a leading writer, filmmaker, and an associate artist and facilitator at ShapeShift Arts. Amber Dawn is a seasoned educator and award-winning writer. She previously held the position of Artistic Director for four years until 2012.
